- Acute immune-mediated polyneuropathy
- response to infection with Campylobacter jejuni (most common), then viruses (CMV, EBV, HIV, Zika)
- results in demyelination
- Signs & Symptoms
- Ascending (legs first) progressive symmetric flaccid weakness with areflexia or hyporeflexia
- Dysautonomia common
- Parasthesias common but sensation intact
- Treatment
- Plasma exchange
- IVIG
